“The Parallel Lightness of Heaviness” is a collaboration with Mexican city and New York based SAVVY studio.
The light sculpture “Meta Parallel” became the starting point. A strong focus leads to the interdisciplinary
collaboration with a parallel research on volcanic rock and its processes. The remaining fragments of the stone
production are outset to a limited series of six variations of stone prints. Kozo paper production and transfer
was done by Per Anderson at La Ceiba Gráfica in Coatepec, Veracruz. Volcanic rock powder
was mixed with bee wax and linseed oil allowing the stone texture to be transferred onto the 30 gram paper.
The prints both complex and simplistic reinforce the contrast between the heaviness of the stone and the subtle
existence of the paper. Every piece comes with its certificate of authenticity.
